Hi. I'm Amanda and I love food!
A warm welcome if you find yourself on my website. Please take a few moments to have a look around.
I was the only child in our family and I grew up accompanying my dad shooting and fishing. In fact my dad did all the cooking and encouraged me from a young age to experiment, particularly with frugal food. I prefer to cook from scratch, whenever possible, but know how hard that can be so I like to cheat occasionally. To save time I love to create recipes that are simple, use less pans and have a twist. I also love to entertain so for special occasions you will also find more complicated recipes, but I promise that they will be worth it.
Every recipe I make is for my own family to eat and we enjoy a range of foods in moderation so there is no particular dietary influence. I'm just a dedicated home cook! However, if something is gluten free or vegetarian I will point it out.
I lived in France on an old farm in Deux Sevres, about an hour from La Rochelle on the west coast for four years and spent much of my time learning about French cuisine and creating new recipes. I am now living in Lincolnshire in the heart of farmland and will be using local, seasonal ingredients in my recipes.

Hi Kevin, I would love to publish a physical book. Unfortunately, the cost would be huge unless demand was high. Perhaps I need to add a poll to see how much interest there is and revisit this again soon. Best wishes, Amanda

Hi Dave. Thanks for the nice comments and stopping by. Glad you like France, although I'm sure you've been to many more glamorous places. I would love to say it's a big holiday but I wish it was. Anyway, fellow English foodies together. Amanda

Hi Amanda, lovely to find your blog. Your life in France sounds a great big holiday. La Rochelle just reminds me of Tricolour. Still never been, even though we go on holiday to France every year.
Just going to have a browse through all your lovely recipes.

Don't like brains or tripe either, Amanda. Had brains once. (Was tricked into it.) It's obvious that you love food, you have some lovely recipes I intend to check out and try. Don't stop, will you?
Thanks for following. 🙂
