Meet Amanda Wren-Grimwood

I'm Amanda Wren-Grimwood and I love food..... A warm welcome if you find yourself on my website. Please take a few moments to have a look around. Food.... Amanda I am always thinking about it, talking about it, watching it  or just eating it. It's definitely an obsession. I'll eat pretty much anything and the only thing I've drawn the line at so far is brains and tripe (but yes, I have eaten brains and won't let my dogs eat tripe as I can't bear the smell). I was the only child in our family and I grew up accompanying my dad shooting and fishing, so I'm not really squeamish. In fact my dad did all the cooking and encouraged me from a young age to experiment.  I prefer to cook from scratch, whenever possible, but know how hard that can be so I like to cheat occasionally.  To save time I love to create recipes that are simple, use less pans and have a twist. I also love to entertain so for special occasions you will also find more complicated recipes, but I promise that they will be worth it. If you follow this site regularly you can expect a new recipe each week which will also appear across social media so please follow  me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin or Pinterest if you prefer. Just hit the icons at the bottom of the site.   Amanda Every recipe I make is for my own family to eat and we enjoy a range of foods in moderation so there is no particular dietary influence. I'm just a dedicated home cook! I moved to France in 2014 with my husband and youngest son. We live on an old farm in Deux Sevres, about an hour from La Rochelle on the west coast. We run a holiday business in the warmer months and love having guests who usually become our friends.   Amanda   I love the blogging community and connecting with fellow bloggers. Please feel free to comment, critique or suggest and I'll do my best in return. Thanks for visiting and I hope to speak to you soon, Amanda Wren-Grimwood       Dogs

  1. Don’t like brains or tripe either, Amanda. Had brains once. (Was tricked into it.) It’s obvious that you love food, you have some lovely recipes I intend to check out and try. Don’t stop, will you?
    Thanks for following. 🙂
If you have a novel in your bottom drawer, you might want to drop in on Kristen Lamb’s Blog. She’s really inspirational.

  2. Thank you for following my blog. Hope you find it interesting and like the recipes our members tried and tested.

Would you be interested to be a Guest poster with us, and share some of your awesome recipes on our blog?

Have a look at: and leave me a note in the comments of this post, with a link to your recipe, if you’re interested. That will be just fantastic. Hope to hear from you soon 😊

  3. Hi Amanda, lovely to find your blog. Your life in France sounds a great big holiday. La Rochelle just reminds me of Tricolour. Still never been, even though we go on holiday to France every year.

Just going to have a browse through all your lovely recipes.

    1. Hi Dave. Thanks for the nice comments and stopping by. Glad you like France, although I’m sure you’ve been to many more glamorous places. Anyway, fellow English foodies together. Amanda
