French Hot Dog

Make an easy French hot dog using brioche rolls andgarlicky Toulouse sausages. Great for barbecues and brunches.

Frying pan or skillet
- 4 Toulouse sausages
- 4 brioche rolls
- 2 onions
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
Use a bread knife to slice the brioche rolls lengthways.
Peel the onions, cut in half and slice thinly.
Put the oil in the pan over a medium to low heat.
Add the onions and make sure that the slices are all separated.
Sprinkle over the salt and cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Cook the sausages. They will take about 20 minutes under a medium grill or in a frying pan.
If you want to cook the sausages in the oven, place them on a tray at 180 C / 350 F / 160 FAN / Gas 4 for about 30 minutes.
Assemble the hot dogs.
Serve.
